I have always wanted to mentor a talented young musician. In 2009, I came in touch with young trumpet player Christian Wayman and his parents Vicki and Cliff.
I've had the pleasure of having Christian play trumpet in my 17 piece jazz big band, and I must say that he his one hell of a reader despite his young age of 14.
My prediction is that young Christian will propel himself into the music world with verve and panache.
